Micah Buchdahl is an attorney focused on assisting law firms with business development initiatives. He serves as chair of the practice marketing core group in the American Bar Association's Law Practice Management section, as well as on the ABA LPM education board. Micah is a faculty member of the non-profit Pennsylvania Bar Institute. Based in Moorestown, New Jersey, he serves as president of HTMLawyers, Inc., a law marketing company. With HTMLawyers, he provides services ranging from consulting and project retainers to in-house CLE and law firm retreat programming. His Part-Time Marketing Director (PTMD) retainer program allows firms of all sizes the resources and experience of a CMO without the financial commitment.
Micah draws vision and ideas from a well of career experience. He worked in the Philadelphia Municipal Court as a mediator and arbitrator. He was formerly associate corporate counsel with the Philadelphia Flyers and Spectacor, as well as director of NBA Photos, a marketing division of the National Basketball Association. For nearly five years, he worked for a legal industry vendor on the sale and development of law marketing products and services related to technology. With HTMLawyers, he has worked with law firms of all shapes and sizes on initiatives ranging from business development coaching to auditing existing marketing efforts.
Prior to law school, Micah served in marketing and public relations functions within the National Hockey League and Major Indoor Soccer League. He also served as a journalist for The Baltimore Sun. Mr. Buchdahl attended Temple University both as an undergraduate (B.A., journalism, magna cum laude, 1985) and later for Law School (J.D., Dean's List, class president, 1991). He is admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar.
On the web, Micah has informed and entertained colleagues with marketing guidance in a sponsor and vendor-free environment. Creator of the internationally-recognized IMA Awards and Nifty Fifty lists on InternetMarketingAttorney.com, he also provides objective, educated guidance through a web log at MarketingAttorney.com, including "Ask the Marketing Attorney Mailbag", a weekly feature of the site.
Micah writes and lectures extensively on marketing, technology and ethics to law firms and law-related organizations throughout the world. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the American Bar Association and the Legal Marketing Association.
In the community, Micah serves as a member of the Board of Trustees for Congregation M'kor Shalom in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. He recently served on the rabbi search committee at the synagogue. With his wife, Ivy, they co-chair the Young Leadership Committee. Micah also serves on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee for the Laurel Creek Homeowners Association in Moorestown, New Jersey. Micah and Ivy contribute time and financial support to numerous charitable and educational endeavors locally and nationally.
